Graphic Design and Production

As a member of this program you will experience the career opportunities available to you in the Graphic Communications nilesschoolsIndustry and learn the skills, software, tools and equipment operation that you will need to be proficient in as you embark on a career in Graphic Design, Production, Technician or a Graphic Design related field. By engaging in the high-tempo fast paced atmosphere of graphic design, this dynamic program will also equip you with marketable skills for a variety of professions. In addition to extending your expertise in graphics, you will develop a portfolio as well as strengthen employability and interpersonal skills. You will also be actively involved in collaborating with students of different departments and schools and in the community to create projects. With the opportunity to earn nine college credits, this program will have you well on your way to understanding the field of communications. Many of your projects will involve live work and hired jobs utilizing customer service skills as well as acquired techniques and creativity. Students will learn:

  • Basic studio photography techniques
  • Digital image adjustment and restoration
  • Techniques for manipulating and combining images


Students will produce dynamic digital multimedia presentations complete with:
  • Music

  • DSLR Photography
  • HD Video cameras
  • Scanners

Articulation:
Direct Credit is available through Lake Michigan College for 9
credit hours: GRDN 101, GRDN 130, and GRDN 140

Crosswalk Credit:
The Graphic Design course will also fulfill the Math 12 requirement.
